The AGH University and NOT- Małopolska hosted the IV World Congress of Polish Engineers in Cracow, Poland on June 13-15, 2019. Engineers from Europe, USA and Canada attended this event.
The Polish Embassy in Washington, DC hosted the AGM of the Council of Polish Engineers in North America on October 26-27, 2018.

Jan S. Plachta, currently serving as Secretary of the Council, has written a book entitled “Artist in Concrete and Steel - Bridges of Ralph Modjeski.” The book describes 40 existing bridges designed by Ralph Modjeski that to this day remain as classical examples of bridge engineering. They are spread all over the North American continent.
Ralph Modjeski world renown builder of great American bridges, son of actress Helena Modjeska, was also a piano virtuoso, who performed with Ignacy Paderewski in Chicago. He had a great love for Chopin, played from memory his Nocturnes, Polonaises, Etudes and Mazurkas. Modjeski received three honorary Doctor of Engineering degrees, numerous awards and honors for his notable achievements as an engineer combining the principles of strength and beauty. He was an outstanding businessman and an exceptional organizer of construction sites.
